Depuis 2007, AFC Consultants International met en œuvre au Bénin le „Fonds d’Investissement Agriculture“ financé par la coopération financière allemande (KfW) et coordonné par le Ministère de l’Agriculture de l’Elevage et de la Pêche (MAEP) du Bénin. La zone d’intervention est l’Atacora-Donga au nord-ouest du pays. Le Fonds d’Investissement vise à promouvoir le développement agricole selon quatre volets :
The technical assistance will support government's capacity to reach the objectives and expected results of the above mentioned sector reform contract. Indicative areas for technical assistance (long- and short-term) are strategic planning, policy, monitoring and evaluation, food and nutrition security, agriculture extension, irrigation, agroforestry, agriculture finance, agriculture value chain development, agricultural decentralisation and public financial management.
The project will comprise 4 action fields
(A): "Improvement of the Legal Framework Conditions for NBFIs" (macro level) creates the necessary conditions for an improvement of the framework conditions concerning SME financing through NBFIs.

Der Sektor erwirtschaftet ein Viertel des Bruttosozialprodukts, beschäftigt 44% der Arbeitskräfte des Landes, sichert die weitgehende Versorgung mit Grundnahrungsmitteln und erbringt einen großen Teil der nationalen Exporterlöse.
