Programa de Desenvolvimento Económico Local

The goal is the technical assistance and institutional capacity-building to improve the quality and coverage of public servicesand economic infrastructure within the scope of ProDEL, with a view to enabling economic growth, including inrural areas in the provinces of Gaza, Inhambane and Sofala, in Mozambique. Based on a local economic development approach, the ProDEL programme aims to boost the potential andcomparative advantages of the areas defined via partnerships between economic stakeholders, includingproduction and service companies, financial institutions, civil society and local authorities. The programme will operate within the framework of the decentralisation process, in close coordination with other initiatives providing institutional support to local authorities. The programme will have a value chain approach, promoting vertical and horizontal links between the various economic stakeholders, and its target group will beassociations of small farmers and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises linked to the agricultural sectorand agro-processing. The technical assistance team will be integrated into public structures involved in local economic developmentand its role will mainly involve facilitating and enabling.
Qualifications: 
Relevant University Degree in Political Sciences or other relevant topic At least 10 years work experience in Public Administration / Decentralisation Previous work experience in the region would mean an strong asset
