local economic development (ProDEL) in Mocambique

The project is about technical assistance and institutional capacity-building to improve the quality and coverage of public services and economic infrastructure within the scope of ProDEL, with a view to enabling economic growth, including inrural areas in the provinces of Gaza, Inhambane and Sofala, in Mozambique. Based on a local economic development approach, the ProDEL programme aims to boost the potential and comparative advantages of the areas defined via partnerships between economic stakeholders, including production and service companies, financial institutions, civil society and local authorities. The programme will operate within the framework of the decentralisation process, in close coordination with other initiatives providing institutional support to local authorities. The programme will have a value chain approach, promoting vertical and horizontal links between the various economic stakeholders, and its target group will be associations of small farmers and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises linked to the agricultural sector and agro-processing. The technical assistance team will be integrated into public structures involved in local economic development and its role will mainly involve facilitating and enabling.
Qualifications: 
Relevant University degree in Social Science or related field At least 5 years work experience in the sectors of capacity building, planning, implementation and monitoring of LED activity, development of MSMEs Administrative, preparatory, and complementary related to planning, monitoring, and information on program components, procurement, and financial management Previous work experience in similar structured projects would mean an asset
