German-Colombian Training and Demonstration Project for Agroecology

The German-Colombian Training and Demonstration Project for Agroecology by BMEL will test and validate innovative agro-ecological approaches. The results and findings will contribute to the further development of the agricultural extension system in Colombia. The project also aims at strengthening the framework conditions and knowledge networks necessary for dissemination. Political partners are the BMEL and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Colombia (MADR). The operational project partner in Colombia is the Colombian agricultural research corporation AGROSAVIA

Project objective: Agroecological approaches with a high impact on food security and the socio-economic situation of marginalised and vulnerable groups as well as on climate and biodiversity protection are increasingly available.

The office location will be in Bogotá

Tasks of the expert

  • Supporting the project management with all administrative and organisational tasks
  • Supporting the preparation and supervision of international and national short-term expert assignments (hotel, travel planning, etc.)
  • Supporting the national long-term expert in public relations work, e.g. designing and maintaining a website; digital media and social networks
  • Translation and interpreting work if necessary
Qualifications: 

Necessary minimum requirements / exclusion criteria

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in the field of public relations
  • Very good knowledge of written and spoken Spanish
  • Good knowledge of English

Other qualifications / experience that will be positively considered in the assessment (an advantage)

Professional background

  • Professional experience in international cooperation projects or other contexts of international cooperation
  • Experience in the field of public relations and communication
  • Skills in working with digital technologies and social media
  • Interpreting qualification and/or professional experience in interpreting

Regional expertise and language skills

  • Professional experience in Colombia or another Latin American country
  • Knowledge of Portuguese, very good knowledge of English, knowledge of German

Methodological expertise

  • Organisational skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Communication and interaction skills
  • Problem-solving orientation and creativity
  • Experience of working in a complex, international environment

From 02/2024 to 12/2026 with option to extend by 24 months to 12/2028
