Ethiopia_ Health of Ethiopian Animals for Rural Development (HEARD) Project

The service is sought to provide direct technical support to the 5 grants beneficiaries under the HEARD project (Federal Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries (MoLF), International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) and the Ethiopian Veterinarian Association (EVA), and to the 3 regional states (Amhara, Somali and Oromia) Bureaus of Livestock and Fisheries.

AFC launches new project in Niger

In March, AFC, in consortium with CA17, ADE and GOPA, signed a new contract with the European Union Delegation in Niger. The 8M€ project will last 3,5 years. AFC with its partners will support the Haut Comissariat de l’initiative 3N  “Les Nigériens nourissent les nigériens - Nigeriens feed Nigeriens” (HC3N) and the EU Delegation with a technical assistance for the sectoral reform agreement, “Food and nutritional security and sustainable agricultural development (CRS-SANAD)”.

Burkina Faso_ Projet d'Agriculture Contractuelle et de Transition Écologique (PACTE)

L’objectif de cette mission est d’appuyer le MAAH, et plus spécifiquement la Direction générale de la Promotion de l'Economie Rurale, pour une mise en œuvre efficiente et un suivi rigoureux du projet tout en renforçant les capacités du MAAH dans l’exécution de ses mandats. Agriculture trainers build their own company in Sierra Leone

Building the capacity of smallholder farmers is an important factor in raising their production and for securing sustainable employment within the agricultural sector. This is also being recognised within GIZ’s Employment Promotion Programme (EPP) in Sierra Leone, where AFC is responsible for implementing the agricultural value chains component. This is why AFC has partnered with GEFAK Gesellschaft für angewandte Kommunalforschung mbH to develop and implement an Integrated Farmers Training (IFT) programme in Sierra Leone.

AFC supports the productive use of agricultural infrastructure in North-West Ghana

Since 2009 AFC is supporting the GIZ “Market Oriented Agriculture Programme (MOAP)” in Ghana, by building the capacity of public and private service providers along the mango, pineapple, citrus and vegetable value chains in the country’s southern and middle regions. These activities have now been extended to the north-west of the country, with special focus on the mango, groundnut, rice, cashew, vegetable and soya value chains.
