Project assistant and public relations for the Dialogue on Climate and Agriculture in New Zealand (part time 50%)

Background and Rationale:

In the BMEL project “An alliance for the climate - Dialogue on climate and agriculture between New Zealand and Germany”, the mutual exchange of experience and cooperation between New Zealand and Germany will be intensified in order to develop solutions for the global climate impact of/on agricultural production systems.

Results

Result 1: Intensification of scientific exchange between practice-oriented research institutions

Result 2: Establishment of a political dialog on priority subtopics

Result 3: Coordination of joint support measures in third countries with a focus on the Global South

Tasks of the expert

• Public relations: conception, design and coordination of specific communication products

• Participation in communication with partners and the specialist public via digital media and platforms

• Support in the design of virtual and face-to-face formats for internal and external team communication and coordination

• Support in the area of research and knowledge management

• Administrative tasks and office organization

• Support for the Team Leader and the Long-term Expert 2 in the organization of events

• Support in the preparation and supervision of international short-term expert assignments (hotel, travel planning, etc.)

• Preparation and organization of project steering committee meetings

• Ensuring high-quality reporting to the client and regularly informing the political partners

Qualifications: 

Minimum requirements:

  • Completed university degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent)

• Very good language skills in English

Professional background:

• Relevant academic background

• Experience in public relations and communication

• Work experience in an international context

Regional expertise and language skills:

• Work experience in New Zealand

• Work experience in countries of the global South

• Written and oral language skills in German

• Written and oral language skills in Spanish

• Written and oral language skills in Portuguese

 

Methodical skills:

• Experience in the use of web content management systems and working with social media

• Experience in supporting the organization of events

• Experience of working in a complex environment

Start / Duration: 

The project is scheduled to run from February 2024 to December 2026 with the option of a one-year extension
