Support Measures for local clusters in Ethiopia

The project Cluster Support in the Agriculture and Food Industry in Ethiopia is part of the Special Initiative on Training and Job Creation of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). It aims to improve the employment and income situation

in Ethiopia’s agro-processing sector by supporting micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the agro- and food industry. The main objective is to increase the employment-effective growth of companies in this sector.

Development of a Strategy for Leveraging Agent Networks to Drive Women’s Financial Inclusion in Nigeria

The journey towards achieving gender parity in financial inclusion in Nigeria commenced with the revision of the National financial inclusion in Nigeria in 2018 which identified five key focus groups to target interventions and policies in order to achieve the financial inclusion goal including: women, youth, MSMEs, rural areas and Northern indigenes.

Trainings on the EU Organic Standard for agricultural advisors

The project is integrated into the approaches of the Alliance for Product Quality in Africa (hereinafter: ALLIANCE) as well as the GIZ global sector project “Supporting sustainability aspects in the implementation of EU Economic Partnership Agreements” (hereinafter: NEW). Both the ALLIANCE as well as NEW focus on strengthening agrifood businesses in various African countries by supporting efforts in reaching quality requirements in international trade.

Green Innovation Centre for the agri-food sector - Phase 2

 

The global programme Green Innovation Centre (GIC), implemented in 15 countries has the objective "in selected rural areas, innovations in the agriculture and agri-food sector have contributed to sustainable rural development". It is part of the special initiative "One World Without Hunger" launched by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in 2014.

German-Zambian Agricultural Knowledge and Training Centre (AKTC) – Phase 3

 

The project is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) Project, financed under the BMEL Economic Partnership Programme.
The project is situated at the GART research station near Chisamba, approx. 70 km north of Lusaka where approx. 100 ha arable land is available for demonstration and trial areas. Phase 1 and 2 of the project were carried out by the same consortium and with the same long-term team from 01.08.2014 – 31.07.2021.
