Visitors showed great interest in becoming part of GOPA Group. Current topics, such as Green Economy or assignments in Middle East (following the Arab Spring), were very popular.

Interest has been high to get to know more about GOPA Group companies and job perspectives during the fair "Engagement Weltweit"; on Saturday, 16th of November 2013, in Bonn.

Five GOPA Group staff members could hardly manage the rush to the booth and have been busy with providing advice to participants nearly nonstop between 10 am to 4:30 pm. The group was approached mostly by young professionals, but also by students and more experienced experts. Participants had interesting profiles and widespread qualifications in traditional fields of GOPA Groups work, but also in new areas like green economy and green finance, with widespread language skills and overseas experience.

Private consulting seemed to be especially attractive for candidates as entry point into their professional career offering a variety of tasks and fields for personal development from the start – with the special asset of GOPA Group having all different service lines under one roof. The huge annual fair with 1,800 participants presented all major German institutional and private, confessional and non-confessional players in development cooperation (around 60), including some European organisations, such as MDF. GOPA Group was well positioned in a room with GFA, Ambero Consulting, Ecoconsult, the Bundesanstalt für Geowissenschaften und Rohstoffe and the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt – thus, being able to closely watch the direct competition.

Panel discussions in plenary sessions dealt with developments and trends in International Development Cooperation labour market, job opportunities with GIZ, prospects for a professional commitment abroad based on the German Development Workers Act and the United Nations Volunteer Programme.
