Team Assistant Financial Sector Development (m/f/d)

AFC Agriculture & Finance Consultants has been an internationally active private consulting firm in the field of Technical and Financial Cooperation for almost 50 years and currently implements more than 80 projects in 52 countries. Our clients are internationally renowned organisations such as ADB, EIB, EU, GIZ, KfW and World Bank.

We currently have about 60 staff working in our headquarters in Bonn and more than 880 staff members in 80 offices abroad. AFC is a member of the GOPA Consulting Group (www.gopa-group.org) - the largest German consulting group in the field of development cooperation.


We are looking for a team assistant for our Bonn office.

Your responsibilities:

  • Effectively provide professional administration support, predominately to AFC’s Financial Sector Development department;
  • Maintain and further develop efficient administration systems and processes, to ensure a smooth and effective office running at all times;
  • Support a team of Project Managers in acquisition and implementation of projects;
  • Compile and lay-out multilingual tender documents; finalise and prepare for submission (via mail or electronic mail);
  • Edit and translate multilingual texts such as reports and publications of all kinds;
  • Support AFC’s visibility and communication activities with regard to brochures, leaflets, homepage, social media, etc.;
  • Support AFC staff in travel planning issues (flights, visa, etc.);
  • Overview our office infrastructure; administer leasing and service contracts;
  • Instruct new staff members in organizational matters;
  • Coordinate all affairs dealing with external visitors, e.g. craftsmen in coordination with reception;
  • Organize AFC special events such as Christmas parties, works outings etc.;
  • Cover front desk duties;
  • Provide general support to visitors;
  • General office management.
Qualifications: 

Your profile:

  • Any professional office, business, commercial education (e.g. multilingual secretary, office administrator, trade-, merchant apprenticeship IHK);
  • Practical experience working as a team assistant for at least 2 years;
  • High command in the use of MS office;
  • Flexible, pro-active personality with an efficient work style and excellent self-organization;
  • PR/ communication experience would be a strong advantage;
  • Outstanding written communication skills in English. German and/or French would mean an asset;
  • Ability to work independently, and excellent team work and communication skills;
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
