Pashmina Value Chain promotion activities in Nepal

The International Trade Centre is looking to promote activities for a project aimed to contribute to Nepal’s economic and social development through export growth and market diversification of Chyangra Pashmina (CP) products manufactured in and exported from Nepal.

The assignment is intended to primarily benefit goat farmers and CP fibre producers in Upper Mustang area, existing and potential CP fibre collectors and processors at local level as well as CP enterprises and their employees in Kathmandu.

Thus, the objectives of the assignment are to build capacity of Chyangra goat farmers and CP collectors and processors in Upper Mustang area

  • To promote local value addition to the CP fibre produced in the Upper Mustang region
  • To establish commercial linkages between CP fibre Value Chain actors in pilot activity location and CP enterprises in Kathmandu
  • To promote and support access to CP extension, business service delivery and access to finance
  • To support advocacy of CP sub-sector through knowledge dissemination and networking
Qualifications: 
  • Experience and track-record undertaking assignments in the thematic area of Agriculture Development and Rural Livelihoods
  • Experience in Agriculture and/or Livestock based Supply/ Value Chains including work in Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Development
  • Experience implementing development programmes in remote mountain areas
