Job creation and maintenance through supporting MSMEs in continental Greece_MSME Expert

The assignment consists of supporting the CEB’s MSME sector Technical Advisor in carrying out the technical appraisal of a proposed new loan to Cooperative Bank of Karditsa (CBK).

The objectives include, among others, reviewing the project’s sectoral and economic aspects, understanding the operating environment of CBK, its current portfolio and modalities of approving and monitoring of loans, as well as the methods and arrangements in place at CBK in view of an effective and smooth implementation of the proposed loan. The assignment will not involve financial due diligence (FDD) that refers to analysis of CBK’s current and projected financial status in view of identifying its financial strengths and/or weaknesses.

Qualifications: 
  • A university or advanced degree in Economics, Finance, Business or other related fields.
  • Adequate knowledge of and experience in working with financial intermediaries in Greece.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ MSME lending or consultancy experience acquired within the Greek financial sector. Being familiar with cooperative banks will be considered a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with micro loan providers, be it a commercial or cooperative bank or microfinance institution.
  • Experience in micro loans, including for agricultural finance.
  • Strong communication skills, including interpersonal and in written and oral English.
  • Native Greek speaker
Start / Duration: 

The intended start date is 25/11/2020 and the period of implementation of the assignment will be of two calendar months from this date. The actual commencement and end dates of the assignment will be specified and agreed in due time.

The duration of the assignment will be of seven days.
