German-Ukrainian Agricultural Policy Dialogue (APD) - Phase 6

Ukraine's agricultural policy makes an enhanced contribution to the promotion of sustainable and competitive agriculture and the integrated development of rural areas. The project objective is that Politicians, experts and managers in the Ukrainian and German agricultural sectors have a growing mutual understanding of key agricultural policy issues. Transferred know-how finds its way into political decision-making processes.

Qualifications: 

Mandatory qualifications:

  • Completed university studies (Master's degree or equivalent),
  • 10 years of professional experience,
  • Very good knowledge of German and at least good written and spoken English.

Specific qualifications:

  • Academic degree in Agricultural Science,Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Policy, Agricultural Sociologist or equivalent qualification,
  • Experience in the field of international policy advice,
  • Knowledge of the functioning of the BMEL, its subordinate authorities and the wider German agricultural administration,
  • Knowledge of German and European agricultural, environmental and trade policy, especially in the priority areas of the project,
  • Experience in advising ministries and/or government agencies.
  • Work experience in Eastern Europe, preferably in Ukraine,
  • Very good knowledge of written and spoken English,
  • Ukrainian and/or Russian language skills.

Methodical competence

  • Experience in managing complex projects,
  • The ability to integrate actors from different areas of work and responsibility,
  • Ability to communicate and present complex issues,
  • Experience in a socio-culturally, economically and politically challenging environment.
Start / Duration: 

36 months (January 2022 - December 2024) with an option to extend for 12 months
