Egypt_Senior ESG & Gender Expert (KE3)

OBJECTIVE OF PROJECT

AFC is preparing the tender documents for the EIB Technical Assistance (TA) to Support Lending to Trade Infrastructure & to The Private Sector (Egypt). 

The EIB has put in place two loan Facilities in favour of Afreximbank to cover the medium to long term financial needs of SMEs and Midcaps in Sub-Saharan Africa:

  • Afreximbank Loan for the Private Sector (EUR 100m, 2017)
  • Afreximbank Trade and Climate Action Loan (EUR 200m, 2018)

The overall objective of the TA operation is to ensure an effective and efficient use of the EIB loan facilities towards the financing - under the form of long-term loans - of financially, technically, economically, socially and environmentally viable private sector projects, by building capacity in strategic key areas relevant to Afreximbank’s business particularly with regards to its climate finance lending.

 

SCOPE OF WORK

The Key Expert 3 shall be responsible for the delivery of all services and deliverables under this contract.

Qualifications: 
  • University degree, preferably at Masters’ level, in Social Sciences with a specialisation on ESG;
  • Fluency in English and/or French with a strong working knowledge of the other is required; Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage;
  • Computer literate;
  • Educational / trainer certification would be an asset.

 

GENERAL PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • At least 8 years of experience in the provision of Environmental and Social Sciences capacity building particularly in ESG.

 

SPECIFIC PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Strong regional experience as demonstrated by at least 5 years of relevant international professional experience (based outside the country of origin) of which at least 2-3 years should have been spent in ESG and Gender activities in Africa preferably in at least one of the target countries;
  • Fully conversant with climate action policies and guidelines.

 

NOTE: Civil servants and other staff of the public administration of the partner country or of international/ regional organisation based in the country cannot be recruited as experts, unless prior written approval has been obtained
