The programme “Promotion of economic and rural development in disadvantaged regions” is embedded into the German Government’s special initiative “Stabilization and Development in the Middle East and North Africa”. Conception of a reference guide for the development of a sustainable agriculture in Tunisia

The Project aims to sensitize the players in the agricultural sector, establish and initiate a national dialogue, structuring the discussions on this theme, introduce new techniques, concepts, approaches, methods and current findings, and provide guidance to the practice.

The services are provided in three (3) stages :

1st step: research, bibliography and design

Technical Assistance for the realization of hydro-agricultural construction works and support to the implementation of accompanying measures within the Ksob irrigation perimeter

The project’s objective is the sustainable management of the perimeter’s soil and water resources. The project comprises three components:

Promotion of sustainable agriculture and rural development in Tunisia: component 4: utilization of sewage sludge and waste water in agriculture

The German Technical Cooperation aims to support the agriculture sector at the macro, meso and micro levels through the “Promotion of sustainable agriculture and rural development in Tunisia” project.

AFC has been mandated to support the German Agency (GIZ) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries (MARHIP) in all aspects of implementation of the component.

“Development of Food Clusters (Tomatoe, Date and Drinks)” within the Programme for Sustainable Innovations and Employment

This project focused on strengthening the coordination and communication between the different actors of the clusters in order to promote sustainable innovations within the SMEs and clusters and the upscaling of these technical innovations at the national and international level.

Through the development of clusters and effective management structures within the clusters, the micro, small and medium enterprises offer high quality products on the national and international markets.

Agricultural water productivity for adaptation to climate change; Component 2: Strengthening of framework conditions for better adaptation capacity

Adaptation measures to climate change in the management of water and soil have a high priority for the Egypt Government. The increasing pollution of water in the irrigation and drainage canals by untreated municipal wastewater and agricultural drainage water is a critical factor that has to be addressed. At the same time, high entries of fertilizer and pesticide residues cause salinization of soils and pollution of water, which leads to a reduction in water productivity and affects the objective of food security adversely.

Technical assistance to the Plan Maroc Vert Support Programme

In doing so, they will benefit from national and international market opportunities and may achieve a higher share of added value to their products. The programme consists of four components: 1) Financing of pilot projects, 2) Cross-cutting activities, 3) Capacity development, and 4) Monitoring and evaluation.
