Serbia_Development of Financial System in Rural Areas in Serbia

Rural Areas in Serbia face tremendous challenges in regard of structural change. The last census in the Republic of Serbia (updated in 2014 by the national Statistical Office) showed that only 40% of the Serbian population remains to live in rural areas. Nevertheless rural economy still contributes more than 20% to the Gross Domestic Production (GDP) and carried the overall economy through the last recessions.

Azerbaijan_Support for Entrepreneurial Development in Rural Areas

The overall objective of this project is to contribute to business development, employment generation across alleconomic regions of Azerbaijan and to raise rural livelihoods and the quality of life in rural areas. The purposeof the project is to support Ministry of Economy and its relevant structures to provide improved support forentrepreneurship and SME development in rural areas.

Northern Part of Cyprus_Technical Assistance for the implementation of farm advisory services

The purpose of the contract is to assist the Turkish Cypriot community in the implementation of its strategy for farm advisory services (FAS). Such services are fundamental for the development of activities in the agricultural sector. A strategy was established in 2017 in order to establish a structured approach and provide a wide spectrum of services to the farmers operating in the Turkish Cypriot community. The Consultant will be required to implement the following outputs:

Georgia_Moldova_Ukraine Eastern Neighbourhood Microfinance TA Programme

The overall objective of this TA operation is to promote responsible financial inclusion of lower income populations in Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova so as to support economic growth, reduce poverty, and encourage entrepreneurship across the region. A further objective is for the EIB to provide support to its selected Financial Institutions to deploy the EIB’s funding in an efficient, responsible and sustainable manner, in accordance with the Bank’s standards and requirements.
