Trainings on the EU Organic Standard for agricultural advisors

The project is integrated into the approaches of the Alliance for Product Quality in Africa (hereinafter: ALLIANCE) as well as the GIZ global sector project “Supporting sustainability aspects in the implementation of EU Economic Partnership Agreements” (hereinafter: NEW). Both the ALLIANCE as well as NEW focus on strengthening agrifood businesses in various African countries by supporting efforts in reaching quality requirements in international trade.

Agritrade Ukraine, Coordination Unit Food Aid Ukraine

Due to the war between Russia and Ukraine since 24.2.2022, there is a changed task for the extension phase of the Agritrade project, implemented by AFC.

Based on existing contacts to representatives of the food retail trade the project has startetd to coordinate / support the delivery of donations from food retailers (especially EDEKA and Netto/EDEKA) from Germany to hubs in Poland. These activities are now to be expanded at the request of the BMEL (lebensmittelhilfe-ukraine.de).

Albanian Development Guarantee Foundation (ADGF)Start-up Window for Covid-19 Recovery

The Albanian Development Guarantee Foundation (ADGF) in Albania aims to improve access to finance for micro-, small and medium sized enterprises (MSMEs) through the provision of guarantees to local financial institutions since 2015. In 2020, since the Albanian economy was severely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the German government (BMZ) provided grant funding via the German development bank, KfW, to establish a “Covid-19 Guarantee Window” with high coverage rates and concessional guarantee fees.

International agriculture expert CoSolve-19 initiative for Albanian MSMEs

The overarching goal of the CoSolve-19 initiative is to support MSMEs that are severely hit by the consequences of coronavirus crisis in Albania, first and foremost, to maintain employment or even increase it. In pursuing this initiative, ProSEED and SRD make a significant contribution to an effective crisis management of a bigger number of MSMEs in sectors of the Albanian economy that were severely hit by the coronavirus crisis.

Azerbaijan's economy has witnessed strong growth over the last decade with average real GDP growth rate exceeding 10%. Income of population increased by 5.2 times and the poverty rate decreased from close to 50% to 4.9%. However, important disparities remain, notably between the oil-rich capital and the rest of the country, and more generally, between the urban centers and the rural areas.

MSME Experts - Supporting the expansion of lending to micro and small businesses in Georgia

The overall objective of this assignment is to support the development of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Georgia through enhanced access to finance. In particular, during the project a team of experts will be engaged by AFC to support the bank in Georgia in the implementation of its transformation to become a universal bank with strong capabilities to lend to micro, small and medium-sized businesses.

The target is the Improvement of the Organizational Setup and Assessment Methodologies for Micro and Small Business Loans.

The main responsibilities of the expert are:

Financial Expert_Rented Social Housing, Social Infrastructure and MSME support in Brandenburg

The objectives of the assignment are two-fold and will include;

  1. The review of the mandate and activities of ILB, types of financial support it provides to beneficiaries, its role in channelling state subsidies, with specific emphasis on the Corona Emergency Assistance Programme
  2. The assessment of the social and economic impact of the CEB Loan that pre-financed this grant scheme.
