Ukraine_Institutional and Policy Reform for Smallholder Agriculture

The project will support ongoing policy and institutional reforms in Ukraine’s Agriculture and Rural Development (ARD) sector based on an approved strategic action plan and the association agreement between the EU and the government of Ukraine.

The project will notably contribute to more inclusive, competitive growth-orientated agriculture that respects the environment, increases rural incomes and slows down rural-urban migration. The project will operate at central but also at decentralized government levels. At central level, the project will support the government to develop effective evidence-based policy analysis and monitoring, and further approximate Ukrainian legislation. At decentralised level, the project will assist Oblasts and Amalgamated Territorial communities (ATCs) to actually and efficiently implement national strategy/policy/institutional reforms linked to ARD through capacity building, technical assistance, training, information and advisory support

Qualifications: 

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in fields related to agricultural and rural development 
  • Master's degree and/or PhD degree in law or related field is an asset.
  • Very good command of English according to CV template (speaking, reading and writing).
  • Russian / Ukrainian would mean a strong asset

General professional experience

  • Peferably 15 years but a minimum of 10 years professional experience following the attainment of a Bachelor' s or higher degree.

Specific professional experience

  • Preferably 10 years but a minimum of 7 years’ experience in local/regional development and/or agrigulture policy advice.
  • Experience as a team leader/project manager/program manager in previous EU funded projects.
Start / Duration: 

Provisional commencement date of the contract: December 2020
Initial period of implementation of tasks: 44 months
