Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO) - Support to Enterprise and Export Development Programme

The TL will act as an advisor to both the PDU Director and CCSD where policy support matters are relevant. Therefore he has a dual responsibility, maintaining the quality of the project inputs and outputs and advising the PDU and CCSD Director in order to achieve the required quality outcomes of the project. The TL is expected to have demonstrated experience in policy support, business environment enhancement, economic research and strategic planning activities.
Qualifications: 
Qualifications and skills University degree in economics, commerce, trade, industrial engineering, a business discipline, or a relevant field At least fifteen years of international working experience in developing countries/emerging economies and MEDA countries, of which seven years are as team leader Good knowledge of development/cooperation programmes in the MEDA region Knowledge and expertise in developing business-friendly policies and manufacturing and agro-business environment Demonstrated EU Project Management experience Demonstrated experience and understanding in areas related to institutional capacity building, research in trade and trade facilitation (including “behind-the-border” barriers), economic and/or industrial policy Proven leadership skills with international, interdisciplinary teams and within complex institutional and organisational settings Demonstrated ability in making excellent professional presentations to industry, experts and management Good interviewing skills Team player, creative and team building capacities Self-driven, open-minded, quick learner Analytical and computer skills Highly developed oral and written communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic is an asset Full understanding of gender issues in the context of the programme qualification and skills General professional experience Demonstrated experience in leading diverse groups of skilled individuals addressing service-upgrading issues A minimum of five years of experience in consultancy, preferably within an SME environment Proven experience in participatory approaches of organisational development and intercultural management Knowledge of EC procurement and monitoring principles Specific professional experience Demonstrated experience in upgrading and modernisation of SMEs in the manufacturing and agro-business sector Experience in international trade areas and issues related to enhancing the business environment Experience and knowledge of policy issues related to the development of the manufacturing and agro-business sectors Demonstrated experience in export promotion activities
